About the Wight Hell Hounds
The Wight Hell Hounds are the Isle of Wight’s Adult Flag American Football team.
We are an Isle of Wight based adult flag football team who started as a small group of friends who enjoyed American Football and wanted to play on a regular basis but found it difficult with only a few people. So we created this team to so we could play more regularly and compete in the BAFA national flag league.
In 2018 the Wight Hell Hounds joined BAFA and registered an Adult Flag team and competed in the BAFA Flag League - Southern League One - South East B Division. Due to a league shuffle, in the 2019 Season, the Wight Hell Hounds competed in the BAFA Flag League - Southern League One - South West B Division.
The Wight Hell Hounds registered for the BAFA Flag League in 2020 but the global pandemic Coronavirus meant that BAFA cancelled the season. We are returned to competitive football in 2021 but due to low numbers following injuries and illnesses we were unfortunately unable to complete our fixtures.
In 2022 we were an associate team within BAFA not playing any tournaments. We are still actively recruiting to rebuild the squad.
We would like to invite like minded people who enjoy the game and want to give Flag Football a go, the chance to join us once a week to play and train with us.
